STUDENTS LEAVING THE SCHOOL PROCEDURES
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS
After consultation with the Tilley School Parent Advisory Council it has been decided that the following procedures will be followed with regards to students leaving the school during the school day.
Leaving the School Procedures
The school is responsible for the safety and well-being of the students during instructional hours, whether they be in the classroom or in the community. The school may be held liable for any injury or damage incurred or caused by a student who has left the school grounds during instructional time without parental knowledge or permission. Therefore, students will only be permitted to sign out of school at the office if they produce written permission from a parent or guardian to do so. This written permission should include the date and time the student is to leave school as well as the reason. Alternately, parents and/ or legal guardians can pick up their child/ children and sign them out at the office themselves.
Please note that town students who go home for lunch only need to provide a note at the beginning of the year indicating this. We do ask that town students sign out at the office whenever they do go home for lunch and sign back in at the office when they return to the school. This is a safety issue that allows the school to keep track of who is in the building and who is not in cases of emergency.
Students producing forged notes from parents/guardians will be treated as truant and will face disciplinary action, including possible suspension by administration.
